Son of Timaeus

from Every Hour by Claire Holley

about

The story of Bartimaeus (aka the "blind beggar man") is one of my favorite stories from the Bible. We don't always know the names of the people who get healed, but in this case we know his name and his Daddy's. The story must've made an impression on the community, as each of the three Synoptic Gospels include Bartimaues' encounter with Jesus. When the latter says to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" the Son of Timaeus' answer is simple and child-like: Lord I want to see.
